As spring arrives and winter fades, I find myself in an odd and interesting limbo.
Each day the sun sets a little later, and each day my body begins to crave the outdoors, the wind, the watery rays of sun, and breezy laughter-filled nights.
At the same time, I cannot stop thinking about the existing inequalities in our world, the economic crises, the destruction of our environment, the consumeristic and hyper capitalistic ideologies we're force-fed, and all the pain that is the only reality the majority of humanity experiences.
And I become overwhelmed as my body is consumed with rage, sadness, and hopelessness.
I look at my options. There are essentially two. I can continue to dwell on the darkness in the world, and I would have enough darkness to dwell for my entire life and maybe even into my next life. Or, I can do something (anything) about the doom and gloom.
I've confidently chosen the latter option.
Sure, we can't cure the whole world of its ails.
But we can love ourselves and everything we encounter, from loved ones, to our work, to the trees, to the local coffee shop barista, to the friendly dog in the park, and to the stressed out folk who cut us off on the highway.
We can be sources of infinite light and love. We can treat our corner of the world like paradise and watch it transform and become an incredible force of inspiration, truth, and compassion.
Today was a little rough for me, but I refuse to allow my existence to be plagued with the symptoms of our world's belief system. Instead, I recognize all the issues and problems in this world and choose to get to the root of them by changing my belief system and helping others change theirs.
Shit may be hitting the fan, but what we bring forth to this planet is what will allow us to experience the better days we long for. The better days in which we promote compassion before capitalism, equality before profit and power, people before economic growth, the environment before luxury & excess, and love before any other damn 'thing' on this planet.
Better days and better ways are open to us soul seekers in this moment and in the future.
Let go of the pain and negativity and the answers and guidance you need will be more than available to you.
I'll leave you with some Magnetic Zeros who know a thing or two about better days.
Cheers,
Marlene
