Daily and weekly rituals are transformative; they anchor you to your self + your purpose, they improve your state of mind and health, and allow you to feel happier and spread more love.
So my question to you is, do you even ritual?
Do you have a daily routine that helps you cultivate inner peace? Does it bring a smile to your face, a sense of connection and perspective, and improve all areas of your life?
If so, what is it? Do you journal, walk, dance to Outkast or ACDC, pray, admire nature, meditate, swim, run, paint, garden, or allow yourself to just sit in silence and be?
If you don't, why not? What sort of excuses are holding you back from crafting a ritual that will keep you connected to what matters to you while also allowing you to stay sane and feel rad?
Here are three rituals to get you started that are bad-ass, easy to implement, and ridiculously life-altering as long as you're in the moment, open-minded, and consistent (as in practice them daily or even a few times spread out through the day):
1. Bless your morning cup of coffee and those overnight oats.
Seriously. Give thanks for your morning drank and meal. Thank the soil, the rain, the farmers, the workers, the drivers, the grocery stores, and all that had to happen for you to savour and enjoy your gorgeous morning feast. Then eat, drink, and enjoy the heck out of it.
2. Read a positive affirmation or quote.
You can do this in the AM, midday, and/or before you head to bed. Pick a quote or affirmation a day, you can even use just one for the week. I love this website as you can choose an author, find a daily affirmation or search through 'em to find something that you need to affirm in your life.
Say the affirmation with feeling, say it like you mean it 1000% applies here.
3. Get your Carlton on (i.e. shake your tail feather).
Movement is healing and grounding, as is play. Dance is a combination of both. Put on some groovy tunes and just shake it out. Worry not about looking good or coordinated, just inhabit your body, be weird and silly, move in the way that feels right and remember that life is brilliant, beautiful, and that you're allowed to enjoy each day for no specific tangible reason.
I recommend keeping a journal or note file on your phone to quickly write down how you feel before + after practicing your ritual. It'll help you see how powerful rituals are and inspire you to craft your own and mix it up.
I'd love to hear what you do daily that keeps your soul in tip-top shape!
Now, I leave you with a song that always leaves me feeling blissed out, connected, and happy to be alive each and every damn day.
